We write e-mail newsletters and manage lists of subscribers, fans, or political constituencies. If it’s a government contract you’re after, we prepare your bid for you!
Our client list includes foreign businesses that, courtesy of Start Here, now hold U.S. government contracts; international and local foundations; science and technical journals; nonprofits; university departments and advancement offices; business development organizations; theaters and other arts organizations; grassroots groups; and more. There’s a place for you!
Founder
Christopher Schultz wrote his first two grant proposals for a nonprofit his mother ran while he was in college. She’d lost her development director and asked Chris to help her out. Three months later, she was awarded nearly $300,000, about ten times her prior annual budget.
After graduating from Duke, Chris spent four years as a logistics officer in the Navy, learning the ins and outs of government contracts. He lived in New York after the Navy, where he made his living as a writer and editor. In 2002 he moved to Oxford, Miss., where he co-founded Easy Laundry, a laundry and dry-cleaning delivery service. Chris founded Start Here in 2004 after preparing a successful government contract bid worth over $5 million.
In addition to helming Start Here, Christopher Schultz has written for The New York Times, Esquire, Men’s Journal, Spin, The New York Sun, and Shenandoah.
